Today The Archers commemorated it's 60th anniversary with a double length episode which will, apparently, have repercussions for a decade, or so says the editor.

The exact outcome of the episode is, as yet, not clear. I would like to mark the occasion with this song for Nigel Pargetter, who, aided and abetted by his brother- in- law David, decided to climb onto the frosty roof of Lower Loxley to remove a 'Happy New Year' banner, on a dark, windy night.

Silly sausages, as Pumpkin would say.

Happy New Year 2011! Amazing to think that, 70 years earlier, this part of London was fighting the Second Great Fire of London (caused by the Luftwaffe), and now we routinely welcome the new year with controlled explosions.
